If you have children, plant strawberries, especially everbearing strawberries, in your organic garden. Children love to snap up these sweet juicy fruits for themselves and will be much more willing to eat other foods you’ve planted as well.

Aspirin water will strengthen your plants against diseases. Dissolve aspirin (1.5 pills per 2 gallons of water) in a bucket and administer to your plants. Help your plants to fight disease by spraying them with the aspirin water. Spray them once about every three weeks.

It can be easy to prepare the soil in a perennial garden. Use a spade to dig up some soil, flip the soil over, and finally, sprinkle around 3-4 inches of wood chips on the soil. After a few weeks, dig, then plant your perennials.

Your seeds, once they begin sprouting, don’t need the same amount of warmth as they did before. Take your plants out of the heat once they start to grow. This also includes removing any plastic that you had covering the plant or container. Keep a close watch on your seeds to know when to do this.

Remember to plan for adequate spacing when you first lay out an organic garden. You can underestimate how much space you need when they are growing. Beyond just the physical space that the plants will need, you should also consider the airflow that the plants will require. Make sure that you map out your garden layout beforehand and place your seeds with an adequate amount of space in between each.

Would you like to kill those obnoxious weeds naturally? Layer sheets of newspaper on the surface of areas where you are trying to control weeds. In order to grow, weeds need sunlight. They will suffocate and die if you cover them with newpapers. Because newspapers decompose well with the passage of time, they make great additions to compost. One way to enhance the appearance of your garden if you are using newspapers is to add an additional layer of mulch.
