Climbing plants make a strong addition to walls, fences or other free-standing structures. Climbing plants are extremely versatile, helping to hide an ugly fence or wall, often within one growing season. They can cover an arbor, or grow through trees and shrubs. Some require a support, while other climbers attach to surfaces using twining stems or tendrils. There are many varieties you can choose from. Honeysuckle, climbing roses and jasmine are among the best.

When it’s autumn, it’s time to start planting all of your fall edibles. A pumpkin makes a great container, and costs less than a clay pot. To use the pumpkin as a planter, it is important to prevent it from rotting. To do this, you simply spray the entire inside and any edges with a gardening spray called Wilt-Pruf. This is done after you’ve opened the pumpkin at the top and removed the insides. When you finish this, you can plant!

Do not mow your lawn too short. If you allow your grass to grow a little longer, the roots will go down deeper into the dirt, helping the grass grow better and remain hydrated. When you cut the grass too short, the roots are often not deep enough, which causes your lawn to have dry patches of brown, discolored grass.

If you have planted vegetables within your garden, make sure that they are getting at least six hours of sunlight each day. Pretty much any vegetable you plant in your garden requires sunshine for this duration. It allows them to grow in the proper manner and also much faster. This also rings true for some of the flowers.

Coffee Grounds

Sometimes the soil you want to use for your garden has a high alkaline content. Combine coffee grounds with the soil to reduce this. Coffee grounds contain plenty of acid to get the soil back to a good balance. After doing so, you will notice that your greenery and garden will be colorful and fresh.

Be sure to split the irises. Take clumps that have become overgrown and divvy them up into separate plants. Uproot bulbous irises if the flowers have wilted. The bulbs will then split naturally in the palm of your hand and if they’re re-planted, they can flower next year. You should divide rhizomes using a knife. Throw out the center and cut pieces on the outside that are new. Every piece is suppose to have at least one durable offshoot. Replant the new shoots right away.
